A 10-year-old boy was found dead on the iron railings near a pond at Sector 19 in Koparkhairane on Monday night. The boy, a resident of a slum in Koparkhairane, had been allegedly reprimanded by his father for bunking school.

“The boy went missing on January 2 and a missing person’s complaint was registered on January 6. He is suspected to have ended his life after his father scolded him,” senior police inspector Suryakant Jagdale from Koparkhairane police station said. The boy’s parents are labourers.
