Youth League slams BJP

October 25, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 09:35 am IST - Kozhikode:

Muslim Youth League (MYL) State president P.M. Sadiqali, on Saturday, came down heavily against Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader K. Surendran stating that the BJP was having no role in determining the campaign style of Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) candidates in the local body elections.

Criticising a public statement earlier made by Mr. Surendran that the IUML was not featuring the face of any women candidates in its election posters, Mr. Sadiqali said it was hardly a matter of concern for the BJP as the IUML was very much convinced of its poll campaigns and strategies.

Internal affairs

“It is purely the internal affairs of the League and it knows how to present the candidates amid the voters,” he said.

Mr Sadiqali also claimed that the voters were very much familiar with the faces of all IUML candidates and that it was hardly a requirement to feature all of them on posters. “BJP’s attempt to spread hatred in the name of flimsy issues would never work here,” he said.
