Young talents to get full security

The police department will prove its might in the city by offering foolproof security to the young talents who are here to vie for the prestigious State School Arts Festival crown from Thursday.

A team of 1,000 policemen, supported by hundreds of Student Police Cadets and Fest Force, will team up together to guard all the selected venues and keep an eye on miscreants.

Shadow police squads, anti-sabotage team, and police officers in mufti will act as the additional force to assist the main team.

The support of all educational institutions has been ensured to draw in the participation of NCC, Junior Red Cross and Scouts and Guides team to the festival.

Similarly, arrangements are in place to record the movement of all persons who enter the programme venues, especially the main venue at the Malabar Christian College ground. According to police officials, installation of Closed Circuit Televisions cameras is complete now in all the locations.

A special helpline — 9744500100 — too has been made available for the purpose, which will help the police to attend five calls at a time. Also, the people can exchange information related to security or law and order issues to the official WhatsApp number-9497996989 of the City Police Commissioner.
