Woman killed in accident near Panniyankara railway gate

A 48-year-old woman, who was riding pillion on her husband’s scooter, was killed when a bus hit the two-wheeler near the Panniyankara railway gate here around 7.30 p.m. on Monday.

The deceased was identified as Sulekha, wife of Jalaludeen, a resident of Gujarati street, Puthiyathopilakam. The body had been kept at the morgue of the Kozhikode Government Medical College Hospital here.

Jalaludeen, who sustained minor injuries, was released after first aid, the police said.
