Withdraw surveillance provisions: KNM

A council meeting of the Kerala Nadvathul Mujahideen (Markazudawa) held here has urged the Centre to withdraw the provisions of the Information Technology Act that intrudes into the privacy of individuals.

Some of the provisions allow the Central agencies to intercept, monitor and decrypt all data in electronic devices. Employing such a sort of surveillance was a conspiracy of the Narendra Modi government at the Centre to silence his critics, it said.
