T.P.Ramakrishnan, Minister for Labour and Excise, has said the Vayomitram project for the welfare of senior citizens will be extended to all villages in the State.

He said at the 'Vasantham 2019', the Senior Citizens' Day observance in Kozhikode on Tuesday that the project had helped bring great respect and create concern for senior citizens.

The old-age homes under the Department of Social Justice would be elevated to national standards. The 70 Pakal Veedus (day care homes) under the local bodies would be declared as 'Sayam Prabha' homes in the first phase.
