Two migrant workers were electrocuted while trying to take out a bucket from a well at West Hill here on Wednesday.

The victims were identified as Hilal Chouhan, 35, hailing from Assam and Savanth Mandal, 27, hailing from Kolkata.

An iron rod used by them to pull out the bucket touched an electric line passing above the well, killing them on the spot, witnesses said.

The duo worked at a construction site at West Hill. The incident occurred near the worksite around 6 p.m. They were about to leave after the day’s work.

The bodies were taken to the Government Medical College Hospital for the post-mortem examination.
