The Tekkiya Foundation for Culture and Development will conduct the IQRA-Kondotty Sufi Festival 2019 at Qubba premises, near Calicut airport on November 16 and 17.

The two-day-long festival, conducted across Kondotty and its surrounding areas, will be a celebration of the region’s culture and tradition.

Storytellers, poets, and musicians will perform at the festival.

Riyas Komu, multi-media artist and sculptor, will curate the event.

The Sufi Festival would celebrate the spirit of togetherness that runs through the past and present, life and dreams of the people, Mr. Komu said at a press conference here on Thursday.

It would be an occasion for people of all ages, faiths, and ideologies to join the celebrations, he said, adding that a bazaar of traditional artefacts and handicrafts and food and beverages from across the Malabar region would also be part of the festivities.
