Adheena Elsa Roy from Kozhikode, who came second in the Kerala region in the Class 10 exams of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), believes that her twin brother Abel Mani Roy has a major role in her success.
“We used to study together, and our marks too were very close in all previous exams. I owe my success to him,” she told The Hindu on Monday. While Adheena scored 498 out of 500 marks (99.6%), Abel scored 492 marks (98.4%), scoring A1 Grade in all subjects.
Both of them studied in the same class at Silver Hills Public School, Kozhikode. Their father, Roy Kuriakose George, is the principal of the nursing college attached to Baby Memorial Hospital, Kozhikode, and their mother, Agnet Beena Mani, is a teacher there. Their elder brother is with SAP Labs, Bengaluru. The siblings are also interested in arts.
They had held a joint painting exhibition in the city four months ago.
Asked about her future plans, Adheena said she would pursue higher studies in pure science and wished to join Indian Institute of Science Education and Research.
