Support promised to industrial units

May 23, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:43 am IST - Kozhikode:

Industries Minister P.K. Kunhalikutty has said that the State government will give all possible support to people who wish to set up mini industrial estates in the State.

The Minister was speaking after inaugurating the Cheruvannur-Nallalam industrial estate developed by the Kozhikode district panchayat.

Positive trend

Stressing on the role of young entrepreneurs in the industrial sector, Mr. Kunhalikutty said Kerala was currently witnessing a positive trend in the response of youngsters to newer industrial ventures. Only with the setting up of newer industrial ventures, would we be able to attract more youths to the sector, he said.

Many of the local self-government institutions were not properly utilising the Plan fund for promoting newer industrial ventures, he said. “It is high time that they invested in the growth of this sector.”

District panchayat president Kanathil Jameela inaugurated the conference hall and canteen building at the estate. Elamaram Karim, MLA, presided.
