Six Malayalam films in festival

The National Film Festival being organised under the auspices of the Kerala Chalachithra Academy at the Tagore Centenary Hall here from May 12 to 16 will feature six Malayalam films screened at the 19th International Film Festival of Kerala (IFFK) in Thiruvananthapuram.

The films are Saheer directed by Sidharth Siva and Asthamayam Vare by Sajin Babu shown in the competition section of IFFK and Carlton Towers directed by Salil Lal Ahmed, Jalamsham by M.P. Sukumaran Nair, Vidooshakan by T.K. Santhosh and Oralpokkam directed by Sanal Kumar Sasidharan, screened in the Malayalam Cinema Today section of IFFK. None of these films had been released in theatres so far, said the organisers.

The delegates pass for the festival are being distributed from the organising committee office of the festival at Nalanda Auditorium in the city from Wednesday. As many as 1,000 people on a first come first served basis will be issued passes for Rs.100, said K.J. Thomas, general convener of the organizing committee.
