The State Human Rights Commission (SHRC) considered 102 cases in a sitting chaired by acting chairperson P. Mohanadas in Kozhikode on Wednesday. The commission settled 25 cases and accepted three new petitions.

The commission ordered its own investigation based on a complaint filed by Ravi Ullyeri, activist, that substandard medicines were being distributed in government hospitals.

The commission has also demanded information from the District Collector on a complaint filed by Riyas Kuttiyil Parambu of Vallikkunnu, Malappuram, that he had received only ₹70,000 out of the ₹2 lakh sanctioned as compensation from the Chief Minister’s disaster fund after the collapse of his house.
