The organisers of the quiz festival to be held in Kozhikode in June are hopeful that the event will get an entry to the Limca Book of World Records for being the biggest such programme in the world and for hosting the highest number of participants in consecutive years.

Government Medical College, Kozhikode, Principal V.R. Rajendran and M.K. Raghavan, MP, told media persons here on Monday that the number of contestants might go up from last year’s 280.

The eight-day festival is being organised at the medical college by Quiz Kerala as part of the 16th edition of the annual World Quizzing Championship organised by the London-based International Quizzing Association from June 2.

RAYS entrance coaching centre and the Government Medical College, Kozhikode, are organising the festival .

The event will begin with ‘Number 20 Rekha Mail’, a quiz programme for women, presented by Rekha Menon, at 9.30 a.m. It will be followed by ‘Couple quiz’, ‘Kerala travelogue quiz’ and a ‘Business quiz’, the organisers said.
