S. Kaliraj Mahesh Kumar, the newly appointed District Police Chief (Kozhikode City), took charge on Sunday. Mr. Kumar, who belongs to the 2005 IPS batch of the Jammu and Kashmir cadre, succeeds J. Jayanath who was transferred to the police headquarters as the Superintendent of Police after a six-month-long service in the city.
After taking charge, Mr. Kumar held discussions with his subordinate officers at his chamber.
Assistant Commissioners V.M. Abdul Wahab, K. Moideenkutty, and E.P. Prithviraj were present.
