Painting contest for students on Republic Day

P.V.S. Public School, Koduvally, will organise ‘Niracharthu,’ a district-level children’s painting competition on the school premises on January 26, Republic Day.

Students of all schools may take part in the competition that which begins at 9 a.m.

Students will be grouped on the basis of their age. The ‘red’ group will consist of children in the 6-9 age group; ‘blue,’ 10-14; and ‘yellow,’ 15 to 17.


Each school may sent 25 students in each group. The best three paintings in each group will get Rs.5,001, Rs.3,001, and Rs.1,001 respectively besides citations. There will be consolation prizes. The youngest contestant will get a special prize from R.K. Pottesseri.


Participants will be asked to paint on socially relevant topics.

The organisers will provide the paper. Red group students shall use crayons while the others, water colour.

Expo of photographs

An exhibition of photographs by Subhash Koduvally will be held as part of the competition.

Painting exhibition

There will be an exhibition of paintings by Anoop Kumar, selected as ‘Kalaprathibha’ in the State-level Keralotsavam.

Students may register through their respective schools in advance or report at the venue on the day of the competition.

They should bring documents to prove age, the press release said.

There will be contests in three categories on the basis of age.
