Nursery arts fete on Feb. 14, 15

The seventh edition of the Nursery Arts Festival organised by Sevak Puthiyara will be held at Government Boys High School, Parayancheri, here on February 14 and 15.

More than 1,000 kids from northern Kerala will take part in the festival. Competitions will be held for 15 events in three stages.

The events include recitation, folk dance (single and group), action song (single and group), storytelling, fancy dress, group song, patriotic song (group), light music (single), and cinematic dance (single).

There will be separate competitions in Malayalam and English for recitation, action song, and storytelling while the group song competition will only be in Malayalam.

All children taking part in the festival will be provided refreshments on mornings and evenings. All participants will get certificates and consolation prizes.

The contestant who gets the maximum points will be the Sarga Prathibha, who gets a trophy and cash award. The school scoring the maximum points will also get a cash award.

The students who wish to take part in the festival should contact the organising committee office of the festival through their respective school before February 6. For details, contact 9446090111 or 9847074423, a release said.
