The 10{+t}{+h}convocation of the National Institute of Technology-Calicut (NIT-C) will be held on the institute campus on Saturday.
Around 1,400 students would receive their certificates after completing bachelors /PG and research programmes in different disciplines from the institute during the ceremony, said the convocation committee members in a press conference here on Thursday.
Noted physicist Prof. Krishna Joshi, former director general of the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), would preside over the function and deliver the convocation address. The NIT-Calicut board of governor’s chairperson Aruna Jayanthi and institute director G.R.C. Reddy among others would be present on the occasion.
The convocation ceremony will begin at 4 p.m. on Saturday.
Speaking at the press meet, Assistant Professor and member of the convocation committee K.S. Sudeep said the placement status of the institute had improved a great deal this year in comparison with the last year’s position.
As many as 823 BTech graduates, 35 BArch holders and 372 MTech graduates will pass out from the institute this year. Besides, 21 MBAs, 40 MCAs, 32 MSc Tech graduates, 36 MSc holders and as many as 41 PhD holders in various areas of science, engineering and business will also receive their degree certificates.
