Former Minister for Local Self Government Paloli Mohammad Kutty said here on Saturday that a collective protest of the people was the need of the hour to sustain the benefits of decentralisation.
He was inaugurating the 48th State convention of the Kerala Municipal and Corporation Staff Union.
Mr. Mohammed Kutty said only the LDF-led government could implement the decentralisation of power effectively. “At present, the concept is implemented here as part of extending some special privileges to some favoured segments,” he said.
K. Bhaskaran, chairman of Mattannur Municipality, presided over the seminar. Mayor A.K. Premajam was also present.
