Magician readying for underwater escape

Magician Pradeep Hudino is gearing up for a rare act of magic, which he calls the Great Underwater Mystery.

The act will be performed on the Beypore port premises at 9 a.m. on Saturday.

“It will be a more adventurous version of an underwater magic I performed in Kochi in 1997,” the magician told a press conference here on Thursday.

Into the depths of sea

The magician will be chained and caged. The iron cage will then be immersed in the Arabian Sea.

The cage will be placed on a junkar from which it will be thrown to the sea at one of the dangerous estuaries of the western coast off Beypore.

“The magic will be about how the magician escapes from the deepwater despite being chained and caged,” he said.

Former Director General of the Indian Coast Guard Prabhakaran Paleri will be the chief guest on the occasion.

Mayor A.K. Premajam; M.K. Raghavan, MP; MLAs; and cultural leaders, including M.N. Karassery and T.A. Rasak, will be present at the venue.

Captain Haridas, chairman of the Vasan Shipping Service India, would be the technical advisor of the programme, said the organising committee members at the press meet.
