Life sentence in murder case

The additional district and sessions court, North Paravur, sentenced a West Bengal native to life imprisonment in a murder case.

The court pronounced Benudas from Murshidabad guilty of murdering Ashok Pathra and sentenced him to rigorous life imprisonment. A fine of ₹10,000 was also imposed on him. The incident took place at Nedumbassery in April last year. Benudas had killed Ashok Pathra by smashing his head using an iron pole.

The police had found that the accused had an issue with the victim over delay in payment of salary.
