Jump in Plus Two 100% scorers in Kozhikode

District records a pass percentage of 86.5

The number of students scoring 100% marks and those scoring A+ in all subjects in the higher secondary examination have gone up in Kozhikode this year. The district recorded a pass percentage of 86.5 when the exam results were declared by the Directorate of Higher Secondary Education on Thursday.

Officials told The Hindu that of the 36,808 students who wrote the exam at 179 schools in the district, 31,865 had cleared it.

The number of students who scored A+ in all subjects had gone up from 1,192 last year to 1,849.

This time, more from the humanities stream have scored A+ in all subjects, compared to those from the science stream. More students are now opting for humanities to pursue the civil services examination, sources said.

The number of those scoring full marks has gone up from nine to 13. They are Haripriya S. (Government Vocational Higher Secondary School, Madappalli), Sivaprasad S. (Government Vocational Higher Secondary School, Payyoli), Ajwad Juman P.C. and Hridya Sreerag (Rahmania Higher Secondary School for the Handicapped, Kozhikode), Lakshmi M.V., Malavika S., and Malavika S. Nair (St. Joseph’s Anglo-Indian Girls Higher Secondary School, Kozhikode), Sangamithra H.S., Rakhendu Murali C., Hamid Hussain M.R. (Memunda Higher Secondary School, Viliapalli), Suhani A. (Feroke Higher Secondary School, Feroke), Bhagya Baburaj (Silver Hills Higher Secondary School), and Bharath Raj Govind (A.M. Higher Secondary School, Kinalur).

The schools that scored 100% results were Presentation Higher Secondary School, Chevayur, Silver Hills Higher Secondary School, Kozhikode, Shri Gujarathi Vidyalaya Higher Secondary School, Kozhikode, C.M. Higher Secondary School, Mannur North, and Karuna Speech and Hearing Higher Secondary School, Eranhippalam.

In the vocational higher secondary stream, the pass percentage was 82.6.

MUM Vocational Higher Secondary School, Vadakara, recorded cent per cent results.

Of the 44 students who wrote the exam in the technical stream, 36 passed.
