Impersonation: teacher surrenders

Two suspects still at large

P.K. Faizal, one of the three teachers suspected of involvement in the alleged examination impersonation at Government Higher Secondary School, Neeleswaram, near Mukkom, surrendered before the investigating officer at the Mukkom police station on Friday.

He along with the other two teachers was at large. A criminal case was registered against them on a complaint filed by then Director of Higher Secondary Education. The allegation was that the teachers had helped a few Plus One and Plus Two students write examinations and correct wrong answers to score high marks.

It was on May 13 that the police registered case against the three teachers including K. Rasiya, Plus Two examination chief superintendent, and Nishad V. Mohammed, additional deputy superintendent.

Faizal, the third suspect, was the deputy chief superintendent.

The police had issued a look-out notice for the three suspects. Their anticipatory bail applications had been dismissed by the Principal and Sessions Court, Kozhikode.
