Gold seized at airport

The Air Intelligence Unit of the Customs Department seized 3.46 kg of gold from three passengers who arrived at the Calicut airport separately on Wednesday. In the first case, the passenger was found having concealed 19 gold biscuits weighing 2.236 grams inside a microwave oven. In the second instance, the passenger concealed 600 grams in the rectum, Commissioner of Customs Sumit Kumar said in a press note. He added that 648 grams of gold in paste form was seized from the third passenger. Two i-phones and seven laptops were also seized from him. All the three passengers have been detained and further investigations are on, Mr. Sumit Kumar said.
