Rasavikalpam Dance festival from November 1

Rasavikalpam, the ten-day dance festival and demonstration on Indian classical dance forms, organised by the Kerala Sangeetha Nataka Akademi will be held in Kozhikode from November 1 to 10.

Uday Kanth, Director of Nrithyarpana, a school of dance in Bangalore, Hyderabad and Kozhikode, will inaugurate the festival at the Chavara Cultural Centre in Kozhikode at 6 p.m. on Sunday.

Director of Chavara Cultural Centre Fr.Geroge Punchayil will preside over the programme while Director of ‘Bharatheeyam’, Kozhikode Deepthi Parol will light the lamp.

The performances will be held at the Chavara Cultural Centre from 6.30 p.m. to 8 p.m. on all the days. The first performance will be by the couple Paris Lakshmi and Pallipuram Sunil. Lakshmi is accomplished in Bharatanatyam and Mohiniyattam while Sunil is an accomplished Kathakali artiste. Navya Natarajan will perform Bharatanatyam on November 2 while Lavanya Anand will perform Bharatanatyam on November 3.

There will be a Kuchipudi performance by Pratheeksha Kashi on November 4 and a Mohiniyattam- Bharatanatyam concert by Aiswarya Warrier on November 5. Yamini Reddy will perform Kuchipudi on November 6 while Janaki Rangarajan’s Bharatanatyam concert will be on November 7. Meenakashi Sreenivasan will perform Bharatanatyam on November 8 while the duo Ragini Chandrasekharan and Sita Saidharan will perform Bharatanatyam on November 9. The festival will conclude with Bharatanatyam by Aparana Vinod on November 10, a press release said.
