‘Childline se Dosthi’ drive from today

Childline Kozhikode is launching a week-long campaign titled ‘Chldline se Dosthi’ in connection with Children’s Day on Thursday.

On the first day of the campaign, Children’s Home cadets, comprising children from Government Children’s Home and Free Birds Open Shelter Home in the city, will meet top officials connected to children’s protection. The cadets will present a ‘Childline se Dosthi’ band to District Collector S. Sambasiva Rao at 9 a.m. on Thursday. They will also interact with the District Police Chief and the District Panchayat President.

An exhibition of paintings by children from various schools will be held on the Kozhikode Railway Station premises on Thursday under the aegis of the Railway Childline and Junior Chamber International Kozhikode Chapter.

A quiz competition for teams from various schools in the district will be held at the Kozhikode city Police Dormitory at 3.30 p.m. on Friday under the aegis of the Juvenile Police Unit and the District Child Protection Unit.

A marathon titled ‘Run for Safe Childhood’ is being held across the State on November 20 on the 30th anniversary of U.N. Convention on Rights of Child (UNCRC). The marathon in Kozhikode will begin on the premises of Gujarathi School at 4 p.m. Around 250 people, including various officials, Child Welfare Police Officers, paralegal volunteers, students and voluntary organisations, will take part in the run.

The campaign is being organised in association with the District Legal Services Authority, District Child Protection Unit and Special Juvenile Police Unit.
