Childline backs bicycle expedition

Shahid Muhammed's well wishers will form a human chain at 4 p.m. to support his cause against child sexual abuse.

Childline, along with various student organisations of Kozhikode, is organising a human chain on the Kozhikode beach on Monday in support of Shahid Muhammed, a student of Jamia Milia Islamia University in Delhi, who is on a bicycle expedition from Kanyakumari to Kashmir in protest against child abuse.

Shahid Muahmmed, a native of Kozhikode, is on a 42-day expedition that began at Kanyakumari on June 3. His well wishers from all over the district will take part in the human chain that will be held at 4 p.m. The expedition concludes in Kashmir on July 13. The human chain will be followed by various programmes to create awareness on child abuse, including a street play, a press release said.
