Case against Firoz an act of revenge: MYL

The Muslim Youth League (MYL) leaders, on Saturday, alleged that the case registered against MYL State general secretary P.K. Firoz at Vellayil police station on charges of forging documents in the name of James Mathew, MLA, was part of a plan to take political revenge.

Speaking to the media, MYL state president Panakkad Syed Munawwarali Shihab Thangal said the Left Democratic Front-led government in Kerala was trying to silence those who tried to expose incidents of favouritism and corruption at the administrative level.

“Firoz was booked for revealing incidents of corruption by LDF ministers and CPI(M) leaders. Strangely, the government has not taken any action against them in such crimes,” said Mr. Thangal. Even after the submission of a petition to the Vigilance cell, no action was initiated against the suspects, he added.
