No one is spared — be it an infant or a student or a police officer.
People from all sections of society have been at the mercy of stray dogs and the newspapers have a daily item on stray dog attacks.
“Just climb a tree when the dog comes after you,”, an enlightened Malayali said recently.
But what about those who cannot climb?
This thought has led to the exhibition of cartoons from Praji.C.P. ‘Marathil Kayaranariyathavarude Koottayma’ (A forum of those who cannot climb trees) held at the busy Mofusil bus stand in Kozhikode on Tuesday.
Praji’s show is a collection of around 10 cartoons that discuss various facets of the stray dog menace, combined with newspaper articles on the issue over a period of time.
The cartoons discuss the possibilities of a college to teach tree climbing in the present scenario, at the same time spreading an awareness of planting more saplings.
Praji, through his cartoons, discusses the legal implications of killing a stray dog and questions the worth of humans against dogs.
His choice of the main entrance of the bus stand as the venue paid off, when people swarmed around the cartoons making creative comments.
Praji, a bank officer, has conducted cartoon exhibitions on socially relevant topics on various occasions, like after the Tsunami in 2004, and on the nonexistent footpaths a year ago.
