Campaign against substance abuse

As part of a campaign against alcohol and substance abuse in Azhiyur grama panchayat, ‘Sthree Jwala’, a get-together of women will be held on the Mahe Railway Station premises on January 21.

Excise and Labour Minister T.P. Ramakrishnan will inaugurated the programme in which people’s representatives and Kudumbasree workers are expected to participate.

The women will light torches at 6 p.m. and present a programme named ‘Maheyodu Parayan’ as Mahe provides more facilities for alcoholics.

Vimukti , a play by Vadagara block panchayat, will be staged, a press release said.
