Acquisition proceedings to be completed by July 15: Muneer

Minister for Social Welfare and Panchayats M.K. Muneer said that the land acquisition proceedings for the Francis Road- Pushpa Junction – Mankavu Road stretch will be completed by July 15 and land handed over to the Public Works Department. He was speaking after a meeting convened at the collectorate here on Saturday to discuss the road work in the district.

An amount of Rs.33 lakh had been allocated for land acquisition. A special tahsildar had also been appointed to speed up the acquisition which involved 8 hectares of land.

Mr. Muneer said that the land acquisition for the Panathazham-CWRDM Road would also be completed within a month. The tender proceedings for the same had been started. The tender would be opened after three days.

He said that the funds for the Mananchira-Vellimadukunnu road development would be included as part of the road development package of Rs.10,000 crore announced by the Chief Minister. An amount of Rs.600 crore out of this would be allocated exclusively for the Kozhikode district.
