Iridescent, an exhibition of paintings that began at the Kerala Lalithakala Akademi Art Gallery in Kozhikode on Wednesday, is notable for the works of 11 budding artists. The second exhibition organised by Dream Palette, a group of artists, is a platform for those talented artists who are yet to be recognised.

The artists, all in their twenties, are Adila M. Kurikkal from Malappuram, Nijil Niju from Chembanoda, Nayana Surendran from Thalasseri, Rahul Ashok and Nithin Lal from Kuttiadi, Anoop Payyannur from Kannur, Arathi Kollery from Thrissur, Lenin Rajan R from Pathanapuram, Akhil Karakkattu from Pathanamthitta, Linesh C from Mukkam, and Surabhi A.S. from Thiruvananthapuram.

A live and free portrait session by Nijil will be held as part of the exhibition on April 20.

Dream Palette will offer a platform for new artists to share their experiences in the field of art on April 19.

“We get enquiries from many new artists if they could join the group. We cannot accommodate all of them, but can certainly hear them out,” said Adila, the organiser of the event.

The doodles with pen by Surabhi, lifelike oil paintings of Lenin and realistic works by Anoop, Nayana and Linesh set the vibe of the show that was opened by lyricist Bappu Vavad on Wednesday. The show concludes on April 24.
