Malayalam film-maker I.V. Sasi will be honoured with the Lifetime Achievement Award instituted by Boby Chemmanur at a public function here on Friday.
The award comprises a purse of Rs.10 lakh, a ‘ponnada’ and citation, organising committee members said in a release here on Wednesday.
Personalities from the South Indian film industry, including Kamal Haasan, Mammootty, Mohan Lal, KPAC Lalitha, Kaviyoor Ponnamma, Prithviraj, and Fahad Fazil will attend the programme, to be held at the Swapna Nagari ground at 6 p.m.
Cultural programmes, including an orchestra led by P. Jayachandran and M.G. Sreekumar; ‘mimics parade’ by Kottayam Nazeer and team; and dances by film artistes will be part of the show. A dance performance by actor Shobhana will be a major attraction of the award night. Film-maker V.M. Vinu will be the director of the event, while director Renjith will supervise the show.
Entry to the show titled ‘Utsavam 2013’ will be restricted through special invitations, the release said.
