Young World painting contest comes up

The Hindu Young World Painting Competition, organised in 2016 in association with Thyrocare, is open for entries.

Participating students will be divided into two categories, Junior (Class IV - VI) and Senior (Class VII - IX). Drawings will need to be on the designated topics for the respective categories.

The timing of the event is meant to bring some happy relief from the taxing routine of the examination season at this time of the year, a burst of colour to put children at ease and motivate them to get back to their books.

.com/ywpaintingand receive a unique registration number. Entries must have the URN mentioned at the top right hand corner of the painting, with details such as name, class, school and location mentioned at the back.

Any number of entries could be sent: the first one will be free of cost, subsequent ones will have a fee of Rs. 100 each.

The last date for submission of entries is now March 6. The selected students will be intimated by email and they should come to the venue to participate in the finals, to be held on March 12 or 13. Prizes will be distributed at the venue. All finalists will get certificates.

The initial-round entries are to be sent in the eastern region to The Hindu at LMJ Chambers (First Floor), 15C Hemant Basu Sarani, Kolkata 700 001.
