A woman and her three daughters, including an infant, were found charred to death at their house in Kandi in West Bengal’s Murshidabad district early on Sunday night, the police said.

Nafisa Khatoon (22) was found dead along with her daughters Amina Khatoon (5), Masida Khatoon (3) and Tuhina Khatoon (10 months). The police have arrested Khatoon’s husband Ustak Ali.

“Villagers saw smoke coming out of the house and found it locked. They broke into the house and discovered the four bodies. We have arrested the husband and his interrogation is on. All the bodies have been sent for post-mortem,” Murshidabad SP C. Sudhakar said and added that Ali would be produced before a court on Monday.
