Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh on Monday said he was hopeful that the Sutlej-Yamuna Link canal (SYL) water-sharing issue would be resolved amicably through talks between Punjab and Haryana.
“Both the States, led by their respective Chief Secretaries, were already engaged in dialogue and three-four rounds of talks had already been held,” he said here, after inaugurating the Digital Investigation Training and Analysis Centre (DITAC).
Capt. Singh hoped the matter gets resolved within the four-months set by the Supreme Court. “It would be better for all if the issue is settled through talks,” he added. Emphasising the importance of the DITAC, the fourth such centre in the country, he said newer forms of cyber threats were necessitating the enhancement of online technical intelligence systems.
On BJP’s performance at the Centre in 100 days, he said it was too soon to evaluate. However, he said that India needed stability, and as a secular nation, all religions must be taken along.
“Nobody had the right to enter any government official’s office and misbehave,” he said, on the video showing Lok Insaf Party MLA Simarjit Singh Bains abusing the Gurdaspur Deputy Commissioner.
