Legendary film director Satyajit Ray’s wife Bijoya died here on Tuesday. She was 98 and is survived by son Sandip.

She was suffering from age-related complications and was recently admitted to a super-specialty private clinic with acute pneumonia.

Bijoya was her husband’s partner and associate in every sense of the term, and was closely involved with his film-making. She was the first person to read most of his scripts, especially the ones involving the detective character Feluda that Satyajit had created. He also used to incorporate the suggestions she used to make, it is said.
