A team from the Enforcement Directorate (ED) here on Tuesday searched the studio of a channel which was supposed to be launched by Shuvaprasanna Bhattacharya, an eminent painter. Although the channel never went on air, Mr. Bhattacharya had sold the channel to chairman and managing director of the scam-tainted Saradha Group, Sudipta Sen in 2011, allegedly at an inflated price.

The ED team made a list of things that were found inside the studio but has not yet seized any items. ED officials have not yet sealed the studio. A representative of the painter was present while the search was conducted.

Mr. Bhattacharya had been summoned by the ED for questioning on October 13 in connection with the selling of Devkripa Vyapar Pvt. Ltd., the holding company of Akhon Samay, the news channel which was bought by Mr. Sen. ED officials had earlier questioned Mr. Bhattacharya’s wife, Shipra Bhattacharya, who was one of the directors of Devkripa Vyapar Pvt. Ltd.
