Prime Minister Narendra Modi's comments about dyslexic children were snubbed in Kolkata on Friday by Paschimbanga Rajya Pratibandhi Sammilani, an organisation that worked among differently-abled people. The general secretary of the organisation Kanti Ganguly that he was “shocked” by the Prime Minister’s comments.
"[He] has made fun of a serious condition which has been inducted as disability in the Rights of Persons with Disability (RPD) Act, 2016, passed unanimously,” said Mr Ganguly a former Minister during Left Front’s rule.
The former state minister further said that this had hurt the sentiments of differently-abled people and a complaint would be filed later at the appropriate level regarding this issue. A girl, on Sunday, through a video interview, asked the Prime Minister about the measures the government sought, to ensure efforts dealing with Dyslexic children.
Before the girl could finish her question, the Prime Minister resorted to taking a political jibe at Rahul Gandhi. He asked if this measure would include a 40 or 50 year old child, and it would make their mothers happy.
