: The West Bengal government has ordered an enquiry into a case in which a candidate’s admit card for an exam reportedly featured a dog’s photograph.
Soumyadip Mahata, from Jhargram in Paschim Medinipur district of West Bengal had on June 27 claimed that he downloaded the admit card for the ITI entrance test that had a dog’s pciture.
“It is the candidate who pastes a picture on the application form, not the department. Mahata had uploaded the application form with the dog’s photo and is now making false claims to malign the department and the State government,” State’s Technical Education Minister Ujjwal Biswas said on Monday.
The Minister directed the district police to take action against the student and find out the truth in this matter. The student however maintained that he had done nothing wrong.
Mr Biswas also accused the Communist Party of India (Marxist) of the leaking of the question papers that eventually led to rescheduling the ITI entrance on July 5.
“The Chief Minister has already ordered a CID probe and the truth will be in front of all to see,” Mr Biswas added.
