The proof of the pudding is in the eating. With a sweltering summer immediately following the inauguration of a newly-built Corporation park at Ramakrishna Nagar Second Main Road, Mandaveli, residents and habitue of the locality have proof that this facility is just what they needed.
In the evening hours, you will find a motley crowd at the park, with and it has something to offer to each of them.
For the car and motorcycle mechanics employed at the garages in the locality, it offers respite from the weather. There are 13 benches, which are covered by the shade from the trees in the park.
For children who have been struggling to find a space to play, the park is well-appointed in terms of play equipment. There is an open gym for anyone who want to get fit or fitter. And, of course, there are the walkways to be used for exercise. There is also a space to practise yoga.
Beyond all the facilities, the park offers a soothing effect on work-weary nerves, with just as its ally.
At casual count, there are 13 coconut trees, five neem trees and many other varieties of trees. There are many trees in the making — saplings, I mean.
For all of these, I have just one word — kudos.
