Wage board: employees to hold demonstration in Chennai

The Joint Action Council of Newspaper and News agencies Employees Union will organise a demonstration in Chennai on Tuesday, demanding that the Centre immediately notify the recommendations of the Justice Majithia wage boards for Journalists and Non-Journalists.

A decision in this regard was taken at a meeting of representatives of employees’ unions here, E. Gopal, convenor of the council and president of The Hindu employees and National Press Workers Union said in a statement.

The demonstration would be held in front of the District Collectorate here, he said.
