Vaiko and Vijayakant meet on flight

October 18, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:45 am IST - CHENNAI:

Call it coincidence or otherwise, but a meeting between DMDK leader Vijayakanth and MDMK leader Vaiko during a flight on Saturday has triggered speculation about the two parties coming together for the Assembly polls due next year.

During the little over an hour flight, the leaders seated next to each other in the business class discussed politics and looked into the “possibilities of forming a third front” in the State, a source, who was aware of the meeting said. DMDK leaders Premalatha and L.K. Sudhish were also travelling with Mr. Vijayakant, the source said.

While Mr. Vaiko was returning from Kayathar in Tirunelveli district, where he participated in a function, the DMDK leaders had just concluded their visit to Virudhunagar district, the source said.

With just few months left for the Assembly polls, political parties in the State are planning their strategies to form alliances.
