Income Tax raids at the Chettinad Group continued for the second day on Thursday. “The raids are still on. We have got some documents,” said an Income Tax official without divulging further details. Sources said that the company is under scanner for income tax evasion and sales tax evasion.
Both Mr MAM Ramaswamy and MAMR Muthiah were not available for comments.
IT officials began the search on Wednesday morning at more than 30 places belonging to the Chettinad Group in Tamil Nadu, Hyderabad and Mumbai.
