Unaccounted cash seized from Director of Boilers

The sleuths of the Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption raided the office premise of the Director of Boilers S. Sakthivel at Chepauk and seized ₹3.31 lakh unaccountable cash.

The Tamil Nadu Boiler Directorate is the enforcing authority of the Boilers Act, 1923. In a joint surprise check conducted at office of the Director of Boilers, S.Sakthivel, a total of ₹3.14 lakh was seized from the director’s car and ₹17,000 was seized from a private individual who was in the office and could not account for it.

Further, the DVAC officers also conducted a surprise check at the office of the Deputy Director of Boilers A. Sivakumar, and seized ₹15,500 unaccounted cash from the staff in the office and ₹ 3500 was seized from the Deputy Director.

The officers of DVAC also raided the Labour Department in DMS campus and a few more government offices in Kancheepuram and Virudhunagar.
