Two suspects have been apprehended at Tirunelveli in connection with the kidnapping of a city-based realtor from whom ₹1 crore was robbed last week in Thoraipakkam.

According to the police, Mohammed Thariq, 52, a realtor from Vanshakthi Nagar, Kolathur had promised prospective buyers — Ramakrishnan and Durairaj — that he would execute registration for a piece of poramboke land located near Chembarambakkam. But he was delaying the deal’s execution. As the buyers threatened him, Thariq brought Johnson, Elango and three others from Tirunelveli to hold a kangaroo court. However, the henchmen turned against him. After robbing Thariq, the gang released him. A police officer said, “Two suspects have been apprehended. Only after their interrogation will we be able to identify the others.”
