Two held for burglary

The duo had decamped with 117 sovereigns of gold jewellery

The Nungambakkam police arrested two in connection with a burglary, and recovered jewellery from them.

The police said the complainant, M. Viswanathan, 50, resided in an apartment in Nungambakkam. Upon returning home on October 6, he found that unidentified persons had gained entry into the apartment and decamped with 117 sovereigns of gold jewellery and silver articles.

The duo were working as drivers of a resident in the same apartment, the police said.
