The Thiruverkadu police on Saturday arrested two suspects from Madhya Pradesh for burglary.

When a patrolling team, led by Sub-Inspector Ravindran, mounted surveillance near Rajiv Gandhi Nagar, Ayanampakkam, at 10.30 p.m on Thursday, three unidentified persons started fleeing, the police said. The team nabbed two of them. The police found a crowbar and instruments used to break locks, concealed inside a bag. They also had gold rings and other valuables.

Inquiries revealed that the suspects were from Madhya Pradesh and had committed burglaries at a few houses in Thiruverkadu and nearby areas. They were identified as Richu, 45, and Rakesh, 26. The police recovered 69 sovereigns of gold jewellery, silver anklets, expensive watches and mobile phones from them.
