Two-day organic market begins

Jaggery, vegetables on offer

The monthly two-day All Women Organic Market by farmers and entrepreneurs began here on Saturday at the Annai Theresa Women Complex in Nungambakkam.

Apart from bundles of cloth bags, you can pick and choose from organic jaggery from Ramanathapuram, value-added gooseberries from Thanjavurand vegetables from Kodaikanal.

A farmer from Therku Puliakudi E. Kavitha, said they were processing 100-150 kg of gooseberries a day and also grow red rice. “We avoid middlemen and always ensure that customers taste our products,” she said.
