Tributes pour in for the man who spoke his mind

People from all walks of life pay last respects to Gnani

The roads leading to Alagirisamy Salai in K.K. Nagar were crowded throughout the day as people from different walks of life made a beeline to writer’s Gnani’s house to pay their last respects.

On hearing the news of his death, members of the film fraternity, political leaders, members of theatre groups, journalists, friends and relatives went to his residence paid homage to the man who had inspired and guided many.

Actors Rajinikanth, Manobala and Rajesh, and director Vasanth paid tributes.

Similarly, political leaders including Dravidar Kazhagam president K. Veeramani, Tamil Maanila Congress president G.K. Vasan, DMK leader and Saidapet MLA Ma. Subramanian, paid homage to the veteran journalist who had briefly dabbled in politics when he unsuccessfully contested the Alandur by-election on an Aam Aadmi Party ticket in 2014.

Members of VCK and AIADMK also paid homage to the writer.
