Tiruvallur police seize more than 50 kg of sandalwood

Three persons hailing from Karnataka arrested

The Tiruvallur district police seized sandalwood logs worth nearly ₹20 lakh from a vehicle on Sunday and arrested three persons hailing from Karnataka.

A senior police officer said that during routine checking of vehicles at Kavarapettai-Sathyavedu Road on Sunday, a vehicle bearing Karnataka registration was stopped and the police team found sandalwood logs weighing more than 50 kg in jute bags. The police team arrested three persons who were in the car. The arrested were identified as Nazir Ahamed and Arbaz of Mysuru and Sarfraz Ali hailing from Kolkata. The Kavarapettai police have filed a case and are investigatng.
